Pool A: UTSA would advance. Texas eliminated. Lamar wins group.
Pool B: Texas A&M would win. A very lengthy tiebreaker would ensue for LSU and HCCNW
Pool C: Texas State would advance. Louisiana-Lafayette would win group. Houston-Downtown eliminated.
Pool D: Baylor would win group. TCU 2nd. Grambling State already eliminated.
